Long time no see

Well… this is… unusual. I knew I’ve been away from writing for a while, but I had no idea it’s been this long. 7 months. Definitely a record! Sorry to say nothing interesting has happened during that time. Nothing! I’ve killed a few hundred gallards on and off, and I participated in the Gold event and killed a handful of Magurg Breeder 1’s. But that’s been it. I haven’t felt like doing anything. Life is quite boring having to keep an eye on every single pec. But I cannot stop. I just have to keep up with my regime. Can’t abandon it now. But having made the vow to swunt ALL remaining Gallards and Caraboks – and we’re talking roughly 12000-13000 of each – I’d almost want to kill myself. And what’s worse – the final mission rewards are improved evade. I need to be better at evading attacks. But I honestly don’t think I can take swunting so many more creatures.

These past few days I’ve been looking into resource gathering some more. I’m not good at it but I have learned how to handle the first 3 Terratech-PH tools. Now I’m thinking of making it my secondary profession. Harvesting wood and possibly even crafting composite planks. There’s a decent return on harvesting, though just below breaking even. So far it has proven to be more stable than swunting. Gallards have cost more to kill these past 2 days that I’m wondering if I should just leave them alone for now. 50-70% return is shit, in my opinion!

As for my financial status… still so much crap in my inventory to sell. I seriously need to amend that. I did make two sales today. Stones and shrapnel. Pocket money, but still. Christmas is coming up and I have something holiday related to get rid of. A coat and mittens. Maybe someone else would like those. I think I have one of those stupid holiday hats too. Unless I sold it. Can’t remember.

Either way, I’ll try my best to not go MIA again. I do want to evolve. Things have been stagnant for far too long.

The Holidays!

Yup. The Holidays have come to Arkadia (and the rest of Entropia, for sure). Last year we were given a green holiday hat and trading cards among things. This year everyone got a new (green) holiday hat, a mug for those with apartments and/or shops, and a Christmas Bokol plushie for those who “improve the economy”. Since I only exist without much effort or home I got the hat only. But some kind soul (who I unfortunately forgot the name of) gave her plushie to me. I love plushies. I now have 1 bokol, 2 Santa Swamp Lurkers, 1 ostelok and about 3 black smuggler plushies. I think that’s it. I so need a home to put them in.
I also caught a pair of mittens on the auction. Red ones. Very cute. I also saw a matching holiday coat, but it was way too pricey for my taste, or else I’d bought it (to match the mittens). Instead, I put on the ridiculous green tree-like hat and went ostelok hunting.

A dead ostelok

Unlike yesterday I had very good returns. Profit even! I found another Piron PBP-2 (L) in an ostelok carcass with a value of 2.10 PED. Add mark-up and it is worth over 3 PED. Overall it is all a loss, but they are acceptable losses. Skillwise I’m improving. Slowly. My S.I Psy-blade increased its tier to 2.3. It’s been a long time since I noticed any difference in tiers. I will upgrade it when the time comes even though I heard enhancers are a waste. Maybe in the future things will change. Who knows. Would be a shame to have all tier slots locked if there was a reason to use them. Personally, I wish for some of the arms dealers and producers to release power fists other than the basic TT version on Arkadia. There are plenty from Calypso, but that’s just that – they come from Calypso. I really do not want to import weapons from that planet. I’m not particularly fond of Calypso and would rather support Arkadian style weapons.
…and I know I’m throwing out double-standards here. The S.I Psy-blade originally comes from Cyrene. It was the most eco, low damage power fist up until mid 2014 or so. Then all TT weapons went through a change by the manufacturers to provide same type of weapons with same stats but from different makers. That meant some weapons were discontinued. They are still available but only between people. I inherited mine from a “relative”. Sometimes I wish I had inherited more.

Anyway. My ostelok stage 3 is almost over. I have roughly 400 more birds to kill. That’s an average of 3 sessions left. So far I’ve killed the equivalent of 1500 kill points, which is roughly 150 birds per session. Today I managed more than 1800 points. For stage 4 I will try higher maturities. But before that I need to do something else after stage 3. I’m going bonkers!

Happy Holidays, peeps!

Home Sweet Home

Finally back on Arkadia! I came back Friday night after another short trip with the EFA. I’ve made use of their services twice now, round trip included. Next time, however, I will make use of my Sleipnir to t least travel from Space Station to the planet in question. That will save me 7 PED. But I have no idea how to. All I know is that I need thruster(s) and they are not very cheap. Or at least I don’t want to pay for any just yet.

The plan was to make at least 30 PED while on Calypso to get back the expense of travel, but it didn’t happen. I managed 8 PED – sweat only. I also didn’t get my usual ask of 2 PED/1k bottles. But 1.9 PED /1k bottles is acceptable. Especially after hearing it was as low as 1.5 PED/1k bottles at one time.
The boards sold well though so I’m contemplating doing more resource gathering and bring sales to Caly as long as there’s no use for the boards on Arkadia. From my understanding it’s used in property building on Caly. It’s new, not sure how it is going to be frank.

I got my haircut. I didn’t pay for a colour service as the asking price was way out of order. I’ll ask around on Arkadia to get price offers. My hair is all black. Way too emo!

Wournos black hairdo

My black hairdo.

Oh! There’s currently an Oratan attack going on, mainly at Repulse Firebase. I was there briefly to fend off some of them. They sent the usual miners that I personally don’t target. I prefer to join the collective in killing the lancers and such. They ride Kamaldons, I believe, and just wreak as much havoc as they possibly can. I lost count of how many times I died and was revived! But I walked away with about 180% loot return. Most of the loot was shrapnel – or Crapnel as some call it. There’s no use except converting it onto universal ammo. Don’t you just love getting ammo when you use knives, powerfists and swords… I have over 200 PED worth of shrapnel. I’ll see if I can sell some.

Speaking of sales. I put up my Simple I Conductors on auction and they sold within a few hours. They were worth 31.80 PED (no MU) and sold them for 37 PED. Without fee that’s a 4.45 PED profit. I love profit!
I also put up Fuel Cells. Still waiting for those to sell. 7 days left. I wish I could bring all my Piron weapons to Calypso to sell, but anyone with any economic self respect would not buy the level 0 weapons. At least not the laser ones. All level 0 Pirons are almost as eco as the TT weapons, but not if you add MU, and they have roughly 160% MU. The trade terminal sell laser, not BLP, so there is a small chance that BLP weapons can be sold in private. It’s worth a shot (no pun intended!) to bring them next time I go to sell boards. But at the same time I want to be part of the Arkadian economy and stimulate that, not leech off of Calypso’s.

Decisions, decisions…

Unplanned visit to Calypso

Today’s report comes from Calypso. It wasn’t planned at all and a failure on my part. You see, I want a new hairstyle. I’m tired of my close-cropped military style and have already decided on a new style. The #21. So I found someone advertising their business on Arkadia. But it turned out that their salon is on Calypso. Bummer! So my bright self decided that I would make a trip and do some more exploring once I got my new style – without doing some research first.

First of all I rarely travel, so I forgot that the whole trip, return included, with a mothership and teleport to planet, costs a whooping 28 PED. I figured I could bring some stuff to sell, like the short moonleaf boards, sweat and some other stuff, but the weight was too much so I had to settle for the boards only. I completely forgot to bring hair gel.
Then, when I got in contact with the stylist it turned out that the order of styles had been rearranged and he couldn’t create what used to be #21. FUCK! He tried to skill up but to no avail. I figured I could still do some exploring and kill some young berycled or puny mobs (caudatergus, tripudion and berycled).

Exploring failed because of the distance between places. It’s as if whoever governs this planet wants us to make use of vehicles and spend oil in the process.

Killing punies failed because they give no decent loot. Only shrapnel, ammo and nova fragments. Not even the sweat drawn covers the cost of killing the mobs.

…and when I got to the place where I know young berycled are it was overrun by colonists.

Soooo… frustrated as I am I decided to put my boards on auction in hopes that they sell and then join a sweat circle at Boreas to earn back the money for the trip. I need a minimum of 15,000 bottles of sweat sold at a minimum of 1.9 PED per 1k bottles. Wouldn’t surprise me if it takes all of August to meet this goal.

When I grow up

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Standard question for all children of the Universe. “When you grow up”. Well, I am grown-up and I still don’t know what I want to be. Some are professional hunters, miners or crafters. Some own shops, which I assume makes them merchants. Then there are merchants without shops buying and selling goods for profit. Merchants… or Re-sellers if you will. Re-sellers are somewhat looked down upon even though they do nothing illegal. They just use the market to their advantage. Oh… and then we have pirates – people who go into space to chase and destroy other space crafts to take their cargo. Healers – they usually only charge for decay.

In the beginning I had this unexplained urge to become a tailor. I wanted to work with animal hides to make textures, and even apply textures to items. Now I’m unsure. So far I’ve been focused on selling the loot I find while hunting for profit. I became a pack-rat. But Pack-rat is not a profession. Since I collect and sell resources I guess I could call myself a Supplier for now. And Hunter.
I was pondering becoming a supplier of goods from other planets, but then I would need to learn how to fly in space – and also risk my cargo to pirates. That thought is so unappealing it hurts! At least the part about losing cargo. I wouldn’t mind being a pilot.

We’ll see, I guess. I have ideas but will keep them to myself for now.

The Beginning of the Universe

Welcome, fellow traveler.

This is Wournos Wou Amos reporting from Planet Arkadia. As of this minute I’m one of the many newcomers to Entropia Universe and this is my personal report.

I am a Sergeant of the IFN, a hunter and an official citizen of Planet Arkadia. My preferred combat tactic is melee with a special interest in Power Fists.

It all started with a revival in space not far from Arkadia. I don’t remember the details because I was pretty much out of it before I came to. The medics had me go through physical therapy to make sure I could move without issues. They gave me a ridiculous-looking yellow jumpsuit and teleported me down to the New Arrival’s Hangar. On ground I was given an Arkadian Passport (I’ve heard “transplants” from other planets need to bribe the officer to become a citizen) and sent on a task to find some miners just outside the hangar.
This snowballed into a chain of events that took me to the IFN Supply Depot, where I got some new clothes and some weapons to use. None of them a Power Fist. No worries though. I had supplies and weapons from a past life that I no longer have ties to. One of these weapons is the S.I Psy-Blade from Cyrene. It’s a Power Fist with a really stupid name. But I like it. Mine is now Tier 2, which means I can add enhancers to it to improve its effect.

Anyway. Once I made it to civilization that is Celeste Harbour. It’s a busy place with plenty of shops. Weapon shops, clothing shops, beauticians and other types of supplies. It’s so busy my head spins every time I go there.

I eventually ended up at 8 Coins Windy Isles. There I found an IFN officer looking for new recruits. The only requirement is an Arkadian passport, so I though ‘what the hell’ and signed up. I was sent to investigate, but also kill, Oratan Prospectors. They are vile creatures with pickaxes that presumably haven’t showered in months.
I was also sent to kill some Monuras south of Valiant Firebase. These are gigantic baby blue or baby pink bugs that prefer to bounce around trees.
I was also sent to explore the Arkadian Underground. There are different types of creatures there. So far I have only been there twice. It’s not a place of interest to me just yet.

Fast forward. I graduated my IFN Training, got an access card, a uniform and was assigned to a Firebase – Valiant. The idea is to summon all IFN personnel when Oratan are inbound and ready to attack.
FYI, to climb the IFN ranks a soldier have to kill certain Oratan Prospectors in a certain order for a certain time. I’m currently assigned to kill Oratan Prospector Thieves. But more about that later.

For now, this is my initial report.
